Owners and operators of the Magic Mart Stores are the Ammar Family. In 1920, Ammar Brothers’ Department Stores were born. The Ammar’s opened the first Magic Mart store in Grundy, VA, in 1967.
As retailers began looking for opportunities outside and business trends began to change of the traditional downtown areas. In 1975, the old Ammar Brothers’ closed several locations, as the Magic Mart stores became more numerous and successful.
Magic Mart Locations
Magic Mart began to expand its store in Oceana, WV from 35,000 to 80,000 in 1991. The Magic Mart stores continue to expand their business market. Lenoir, NC store is the newest Magic Mart.
Today, Magic Mart has 21 stores located in four states.
Magic Mart’s mission is to feature value-priced national brands at money-saving prices.

Magic Mart features furniture deliveries from several locations. Besides furniture deliveries, Magic Mart also has several services such as paint color mixing, tuxedo rental, magic mart gift cards, repair services, and special orders.
