In rural Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Sam Levin was persuaded by his wife, Jessie, to found a dignified business. The origin of the Levin Furniture Company was established in 1920. Levin Furniture Company originally sold furniture as well as hardware items.
From the store’s beginning, it was successful. The furniture division expanded and hardware items were gradually phased out. In order to continue developing the business, both Sam and Jessie Levin had to work long hours.
